DIRECTOR – MRS. VARUNI SAMARASINGHE

Mrs. Varuni Samarasinghe is a Director of CIS Int’l Holdings Corp. (USA). After joining the group in 2002 upon her marriage to Mr. Samarasinghe, she brought her background in fashion design, manufacturing, and her completion of CIMA Stage 3 in Sri Lanka to her new role. After relocating to Los Angeles, USA, Mrs. Samarasinghe became actively involved in CIS International's operations, starting in Marketing and Customer Service. She served as the primary account manager for several major clients, including a leading chain store with over 600 locations at the time.

Over the years, Mrs. Samarasinghe expanded her responsibilities, focusing on Production Planning and improving KPIs such as mortality rates, on-time shipping, and incident report responses. She also played a key role in documenting and updating the company’s operational processes and procedures, a cornerstone of CIS International’s best practices.

In addition to her operational responsibilities, Mrs. Samarasinghe managed projects as a point of contact for CPAs, ensuring the finalization of the U.S. company’s annual tax returns. She was instrumental in upgrading and standardizing accounting processes and systems. After successfully overseeing the accounting, production planning, and shipping operations, she transferred these functions to the BPO division in Sri Lanka in 2008.

Following the birth of her daughter Ivanka in January 2008, Mrs. Samarasinghe stepped back from daily operations. However, she continues to leverage her expertise by addressing special customer service issues for the chain store accounts and remains actively involved in special projects related to the group’s diversification strategy. Her current focus includes developing eco-tourism concepts and conceptualizing new business plans for the group.
