DIRECTOR – MRS. INDRANI WIMALASENA

Mrs. Indrani Wimalasena joined Tropical Fish International (Pvt) Ltd. as a Financial Consultant in May 2013 and was appointed to the Board of Directors later that same year. She began her career as an Assistant Accountant at CWE, where she completed her FCMA and MBA at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, as well as a Diploma in Financial Management from RVB in the Netherlands.

Rising through the ranks, Mrs. Wimalasena became the Additional General Manager, where she oversaw key operational areas such as Finance, Imports, Exports, and Agriculture. After resigning from CWE, she took on the role of Deputy General Manager at State Mortgage & Investment Bank, responsible for developing, monitoring, and reviewing strategic business plans, as well as managing human resources, training, and performance evaluations. She was also a key member of various committees, including the Assets and Liability Management Committee, Credit Committee, and the Tender Board for procurements. Additionally, she acted as the bank’s Compliance Officer to the Central Bank, overseeing treasury and investment management and coordinating risk mitigation efforts.

Mrs. Wimalasena reached the pinnacle of her career when she was appointed General Manager of the bank, a position she held until her retirement in 2010. After retirement, she provided consultancy services to Lanka Spices (Pvt) Ltd. before joining Tropical Fish International.
